Jenn + Luke | Sneak Peek | Wedding Day Kiss

Jenn and Luke were fantastic their entire wedding day, with lots of positive energy and many big smiles. They couldn’t have asked for a better spring day, with lots of warm sun and even some dramatic clouds that built in the sky during the afternoon hours. We took advantage of the environment by capturing an image that the couple was hoping to get at some point throughout their day, a kiss with a burst of sunshine.

I think we got exactly what they were looking for, a moment of time that they can cherish for the rest of their lives …

Jenn + Luke | Sneak Peek | Wedding Party

I always like it when bride and grooms come to me with wedding images they have in mind. Jenn and Luke pulled a few from pinterest and sent them to me prior to their wedding day, thinking it would be fun if they could implement similar scenes into their wedding photography. And on their special day, we were able to pull off several of the scenes before heading into their reception, including the two images you see below …

Jenn and Luke were all smiles throughout their entire wedding day as they seemed to enjoy every moment. Photographing a wedding party is always a fun part of covering a wedding celebration. The group tends to always be full of energy and having a great time. So, I try and use that positive vibe to capture some great images.

Brittany and Anthony had a fantastic group of family and friends within their wedding party as they were all in great spirits and having fun with the wedding party images. I always make sure the couple pops within these scenes and one way is by putting them in the foreground as the focal point, with their wedding party in the background looking on (like in the image above). I then offset the group behind to have the maid of honor and the best man bookend the group, giving them an important area within the photograph.

I love it when couples have photo booths at their reception, like Brittany and Anthony did, as it lends itself to many fun images of the wedding couple and their guests.

One of my favorite images is of the couple with the film strip in focus, such as in the scene above. I think it’s a great way to create an image that the couple will cherish for a lifetime, as it showcases four pictures in one, while including their wedding date.

Brittany and Anthony had a beautiful celebration, which included some nice evening lighting after their ceremony had completed. We adventured in the field behind the church were they tied the knot and I positioned them with their backs to the sun, creating a sun drenched type of scene. It’s a tricky technique, but if done properly you can create an image such as the one above, with the couple exposed properly in a scene of golden light.

I find it works best to let the energy and happiness of the moment come through by letting the couple have some time to themselves. During this time, I don’t pose them or have them smile at the camera, I just get out of the way, move around the couple and capture scenes of them enjoying moments together on their wedding day.
