“Snow & Trees”

Snow & Trees | © Jay Moore Photography

This was another fun scene that I found on my snow walk the other day. I really like how the snow is stuck to the sides of the tree trunks, which gives each tree nice depth. The brightness of the snow works nicely together with the darkness of the bark.

This image is a photorealistic HDR image, even though it looks like a regular one frame photograph. The reason I went with HDR is because the dynamic range between the snow and the bark was too large to maintain detail throughout the entire scene. And since I knew I wanted to keep detail in both the bright snow and the dark bark, the only way to accomplish that was by taking a HDR image.
