Today marks the first day of spring and we celebrate that day with some images of a Saucer Magnolia tree (better known as a tulip tree), which showcases new life and the brilliant colors of spring.

This time of year is always fun as a photographer and a nature lover, as spring begins to come alive. Over the next couple of months, it’s fun to watch all the different types of trees begin the process of creating its canopy, as most of them start with a bang.

    Nice shots, but this is not Liriodendron (a tulip poplar), it’s Magnolia × soulangeana (a saucer magnolia).
